I had the prawn tacos and they were beautiful! The menu has a great selection. My friends had the feather blade beef and the fish dish and they were all impressed with the food. The decor is gorgeous too. We've been to Con's several times lately and enjoyed it every time
Great spot in the heart of Mullingar! Con’s Bar has that perfect traditional pub atmosphere warm, welcoming, and full of character. The staff were friendly and quick to serve even when it got busy, and the pint of Guinness and Bulmers was spot on. Loved the cozy, old-school interior with plenty of character; it feels like a proper local rather than a tourist trap.
We popped in for a casual drink and ended up staying much longer than planned, chatting with locals and enjoying the relaxed vibe. There was a great mix of ages in, which added to the friendly atmosphere. Only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is that it got a bit crowded on the night we visited and there was a short wait at the bar, but that’s a testament to how popular the place is.
Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Mullingar looking for an authentic Irish pub experience. Will be back next time I’m in town!

Food was so delicious the mushroom risotto was so delectable my goodness I enjoyed it! Paired with the sticky toffee pudding !
Really saddened to have to write this review. Have been eating in this establishment for approx 1 year, once or twice a fortnight. Usually do a walk in and never have a problem. Tonight with the good weather and town being busy I decided to make a booking to be sure. Lady on the phone very accommodating booked myself and my partner in for 6pm. On arrival the venue was half empty, we were then told we couldn’t be seated as we weren’t dressed neat. However it’s a hot sunny day and there are several others around the bar in shorts. Unfortunately we were asked to leave due to shorts.
My partner was really embarrassed and just informed me when we left that I am in fact wearing the exact same shorts I was wearing in the venue a week ago.
Very embarrassing to be turned away like that in a half empty business.
Unfortunately will not be returning and would not recommend.
P.S on reversing out of our parking spot a couple has just entered with the man wearing shorts. They didn’t come back out. Shocking
Really delicious food and good service, the prawn tacos with beer batter are a game changer. Very impressed with the new menu items nice to have something different in the town. 10/10 would recommend.
